Understanding the immigration rules and keeping your immigration papers straight in a new country can be a challenge. To make the transition easier, the International Advisement Office (I.A.O.) assists international students regarding visa, non-immigrant status, work authorization, travel instructions for entering or leaving the U.S., school transfers, extension of stay, change of non-immigrant status, reinstatement, Social Security, and any other procedural matters concerning international students. The office publishes a monthly newsletter which contains important news affecting International Students' rights and benefits in the U.S.

The I.A.O. also promotes understanding between students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds by providing fun and educational programming for students to learn about each other’s cultures, and to educate the Juilliard community about the rich cultural mix our students bring in.
